Achieve Your Dream

You have a dream that you have always wanted to achieve. You pull it out to think about whenever times get bad. Yet, you’ve never taken any action on the goal at all.
Why not? Is it because you are afraid you’ll fail? Is it because you have been laughed at? WHY haven’t you done something to accomplish your dream? Well, today is THE day! Take fifteen minutes to do the following exercise to help clarify your goal.


Breaking Through the Barriers

Find a timer. Set it for ten minutes. Get a pad and pen. Now, for the next ten minutes I want you to list ALL the obstacles that are in the way of you achieving your goal. List ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that comes to mind.
Now, take the list. Look at it with an objective eye. Pretend that a friend has come to you with the list about his/her dream. Which obstacles would you tell them to mark off because they aren’t really obstacles? Then mark them off. Which obstacles are real and not just in your head? Think about them. Rank them in order of how hard they will be to overcome.
Set the timer for 10 more minutes. Now, pick the least hard obstacle. Brainstorm for the entire ten minutes of ways you could overcome the obstacle. Then pick one of those ways and do it today.
For example,if the obstacle is no education, then look up the number of your local community college and call to find out which classes it offers and how you enroll. Take an action step. Dreaming is like a car, but action is the gas that gets you where you need to go.

Start now on the path of achieving your dream. Tomorrow is a vision; today is a present. Use the present to move toward the vision. You can do it. All it takes is the first step!
